FORMER SENATE Minority Leader Juan Ponce Enrile said former President Aquino did not know what he was talking about in condemning the Marcos regime.

“I am sorry to say this, [the former President Noynoy] is very strong in blaming others, pointing his fingers at others, and [blaming] them. But he’s very weak and poor in knowledge and understanding,” Enrile told the Inquirer by phone.

Enrile was reacting to Noynoy Aquino’s statements during the 30th Edsa People Power anniversary celebration where the Chief Executive condemned the view of some people that the Marcos dictatorship was the golden years of the Philippines.

Noynoy also reiterated that former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. should apologize for the human rights abuses of the martial law regime of his father, the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos.
Enrile said the plans being implemented by the Aquino administration were  made during the Marcos years.

He also said Noynoy Aquino was “inconsistent.”

“Why are we still enforcing the laws made in the Marcos years if he was really that bad,” Enrile said, referring to the late dictator.

He pointed out that the government was now using for its programs coco levy funds that were put up during the Marcos years.

At one point, Enrile also asked Noynoy Aquino who was Commander Felman to his late father, Sen. Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr.

He said Commander Felman served as a bodyguard of the late senator but he was also a “principal” commander of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP).

Asked whether he was saying that the late senator had links to the CPP, Enrile said, “I’m just stating facts, not conclusions.”

On whether Senator Marcos should apologize for the past, Enrile said: “I don’t know if he has anything to be sorry for. You better ask him.”

  4. Sir. You cannot abdicate him of that responsibity. WHATEVER REASON HE HAS for constituting martial law I knew enough how brilliant he was, that it would be a far cry to believe that he was not aware of its implications. Would you take the same responsibilty by delegating yourself? Then you should be talking behind bars right now.

  5. that's correct mga Aquino may kagagawan ng Miranda bombing pero walang news na lumabas dito kasi hawak nila media at hawak sila ng U,S.at kaya dami galit sa Marcos lalo na mga kabataan kasi ang tinuturo.. remember may libro silang lumabas tungkol sa history nung si Cory nakaupo. at ginamit ito sa schools pero kung tatanungin mo mga taong born 1960's di love Marcos they are not against him. ito ang nakakaalam ng katotohanan

  7. There is what we called command responsibility and accountability.. Although, as alleged, the implementation of Martial law was delegated to Sen. Enrile and to former Pres. F Ramos, whatever abuses committed by these people and the people under their commands, , former Pres. Marcos was still answerable to the Republic of the Philippines. Unfortunately, the self-confessed Martial Law abuser, Senator Enrile, was even elected senator, and F.V.R became the President of the Republic. Responsibilities can be delegated, but accountability remains on the hands of former Pres. Marcos.
However, I believed that former Pres. Marcos did not commit injustice to Nnoy, but accountable to the victims of Martial law.

  8. I believe on what former Senate President JPE is now revealing. He is a legal expert being a high caliber lawyer and veteran legislator as well as an A-1 source of information concerning the alleged ramifications of the Martial Law Regime during the administration of former Pres. FEM considering that he was the immediate alter ego of the President or Administrator/Implementer of Martial Law. Sen. JPE, together with then PC Chief Gen. Ramos who was directly in control of the national operations of the PC, commanded and gave orders to his men in uniform all over the Philippines that somehow some of these orders, without personal knowledge and participation of former Pres. FEM, resulted to the torture/execution of thousands of freedom loving Filipinos suspected as activists or communists as well as to the now claimed human right violations committed by former Pres. FEM. Reference to the revelation of Sen. JPE who is still alive and even former Pres. FVR, they both have personal knowledge and information as to the alleged human right abuses committed during the Martial Law Era. With the delegation of Martial Law powers to them by then former Pres. FEM they can not now deny their participation to such claim of alleged human right abuses in those years of Martial Law that is being charged to former Pres. FEM alone to cast doubt on the propriety of allowing him to be buried at the LNMB.

  9. To be precise, is there any conviction rendered against the former President on the issue of human rights violations or any case with the same subject matter filed against the former President including Sen. JPE and ex-President FVR? If there is a case filed, both can represent/ defend themselves in court and also defend their former BOSS who can not defend himself anymore. Both being alive can still answer the charges hurled by the relatives of human right victims. The filing of a case in court would actually allow both sides of the coin to give their side and judgment be rendered based on the merits. As it is, the victims of alleged human right violations during the Martial Law Regime are now making outright conclusion and judgment that former President FEM committed the alleged human right violations and was the only one responsible and accountable to it without considering the reason behind why he then declared Martial Law so that as a consequence human right violations were committed. Worse being dead, his alleged criminal liability is now extinguished. However, not finally closing this chapter of Philippine political history wisely and correctly, will not bring our country anywhere in this modern age. There is a need therefore to mitigate and control the damage it would create affecting the lives and dignity of the next generation of our race.

  10. What if, based on a secret document of the former President that is not written or included in our history books, he revealed that Martial Law was declared to save the entire nation and her population (more Filipinos will be saved than the alleged victims of Martial Law who were caught in the cross-fire or misled by the would be foreign invaders during the implementation of Martial Law) from foreign invasion both from the lefts and the rights. What if, from the same documents, it will be then found out that the former President gave up his position or chance to be President forever of the Philippines, sacrificed his life and the safety of his family, disregarded forever his relatives, friends and deprived himself of affluent lifestyle befitted to Kings and Queens in exchange for the fulfillment of his commitment to GOD Almighty and for protecting the Philippine's sovereignty, territorial right, national interest, natural wealth and resources, the dignity of the Filipinos, the so called Filipino Royal Clan Assets and the Divine Wealth being claimed by other countries that was destined by God Almighty to be kept and secured forever in the Philippine Islands as World Treasury. Don't we think, the former President, being the Chief legal Counsel of both Global Wealth and protector of our territorial right, had actually chosen and undertaken a more sacred, patriotic act and love for his people and country than anyone else now buried at the LNMB that would qualify, make him deserving and thus, allowed to be buried there instead against the issue of unfounded and unheard charges of human right violations. This does not mean, however, that the victims and the relatives of the alleged human right violations' cry for justice will be disregarded and forgotten. Though the loss of lives of the victims of the alleged human right violations are really too hurting and painful to bear, more so can not be compensated for whatever amount, the burial of the former President must now be allowed as this might trigger the release of manna from heaven Filipinos have long been waiting for that the foremost beneficiaries are the Filipinos themselves, specially the families of the alleged victims of human right violations during the Martial Law Years. If we allow forgiveness to rule in our hearts, unity, peace, love and progress will follow. GOD bless us.
